Tammy spent hours (and hours) figuring out how to assemble the doors, jams, headers, thresholds, glass and seals. Lots of help from the factor rep but we got everything assembled over the week and Thursday night with some help from Brenna. The number of components that simply need to be hit real hard with a mallet to install them is astounding and makes me uncomfortable.
The frames didn't initially fit in the rough opening. I had to grind down and smooth out the threshold a bit. This tool made that easy. It is a 6 inch diamond tipped grinder. Fantastic! Our mason let me borrow it. Thanks Bobby!
Look at how smooth and flat that is.
The front doors are commercial pivot doors. Very heavy.
Here is what they look like in place. Everything was level and plumb so they don't go swinging around on their own.
Moving on to the sliding door in the back now.
We put all the glass we have in. Waiting on two replacement pieces thus the cardboard filler and temporary wood support to lock in the glass. Replacement parts are shipping next week but with this closed up, Tammy can finally put some plants in there.
Moved some plants in.
